Kristian Hedin’s Retirement
After decades of working alongside clients, colleagues and the Wangaratta business community, Kristian Hedin has announced his retirement from Johnsons MME.
For Kristian, the most rewarding part of his career has been helping others succeed.
Whether supporting clients as they transitioned from employment into business ownership, or mentoring team members as they developed their careers, Kristian has always placed people at the heart of his work. He’s proud to have played a small part in many long-standing client journeys and values the strong, trusted relationships built along the way.
Known for his calm, considered approach and practical advice, Kristian has long been a steady hand for clients across industries including primary production, construction and medical practice. He’s guided businesses through change, growth and succession, and remained focused on ensuring every client felt supported.
Kristian’s journey in public practice began in the mid-1980s and brought him to Wangaratta in 1995, where he became a Partner of Chisholm Partners (then Heslop & McLeish). He led the firm for over two decades, before facilitating the 2021 merger with Johnsons MME.
A move that aligned with his commitment to continuity for both clients and team, he remained with the firm as a Manager to support a smooth transition and ensure that clients continued to receive the same high level of service.
He’s also contributed to the broader community over the years, including through his involvement in local sport. He speaks highly of the opportunities regional communities create for people to participate, lead and grow.
As Kristian looks ahead to retirement, he’s looking forward to travel, including a long-awaited trip to Europe, and having the time to enjoy a slower pace of life.
He also acknowledges the behind-the-scenes support, from family and many long term staff, that made his career possible and recognises how important that has been in his career. Kristian has appreciated the kind words from many clients and, while he hasn’t had the opportunity to speak with everyone personally, he is grateful for the trust and support shown to him over the years.
While Kristian prefers to keep things low-key, his impact is clear.
On behalf of everyone at Johnsons MME, we thank Kristian for his contribution to the firm, our clients and the Wangaratta region, and wish him the very best in this next chapter.
